Working with Narratives, Part One

“Let me in”, the voice cried softly,

From outside the wooden door

Scattered remnants of the ship could be seen in the distance

Blood stained the icy wall of the shore…

“I’m the only one left,

The storm, took them all”, he managed as he tried to stand

The tears ran down his face.

“Please…it’s cold…”

Kickstarting the Stalled Engine of Progress

part 6

It has been a couple of weeks since I have given this project the attention it deserves, but with paint drying on other projects(literally), it’s time to charge ahead. It’s clear that my printer is running low on a couple necessary inks. Nevertheless, the point of these prints is simply to give me a visual to look at that is not this glowing screen of doom. This also gives me a chance to start putting words to photos, to tell their story in writing…

…So far, I’ve made these reference prints, taken a walk, and eaten a tuna sandwich…

…Perhaps after a nap, The writing juices will start flowing, more than the photo black in my printer…

A Journey Beneath our Feet

Part One

Hello all. Hope this post is finding you safe and healthy in these times. I’ve recently been working on a candid portrait series that has been on the back burner of my mind for a while now, especially when looking down at my feet in the city. Here’s a sample of the series in progress. Would love to hear what you think. What works? What needs work? What stories run through your head when you see this? I’m being intentionally, verbally non-descript. You first…oh yeah, send your feedback here. Stay safe everybody, and support your local curbside brewery, if you can… Photos ©J Madden.
